Podcasting in PAC 442 Section B
The course instructor will be producing a new podcast for the course on a weekly basis. You are encouraged to listen to these podcasts. Note that transcripts of each podcast will be available on the course blog, so you can read the text instead of listening to the audio.Simple way to listen to the podcasts:There are several reasons for these podcasts:
- to summarize the weekly discussions and to look ahead to the next week
- to allow students to hear the instructor's voice - with inflection and emphasis
- to address the preferred learning style of "auditory" learners
- to expose students to current Internet technologies
You do not need to have an iPod to listen to the podcasts. Simply go to the course blog at:Recommended way to listen to the podcasts:and download the mp3 files directly to your computer. Then play the mp3 files with any appropriate (free) software, such as the Windows Media Player or WinAmp.
Download the free iTunes software from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and install it on your computer. Subscribe to the RSS feed for the PAC 442 section B podcast. This feed is at:Mobile learning:http://feeds.feedburner.com/pac442b
Copy the above URL. Open iTunes. Select "Subscribe to Podcast..." from the "Advanced" menu. Paste the URL into the "URL" box and click "OK". Then whenever you run iTunes, new podcasts will be downloaded to your computer automatically, as they become available.
If you have an iPod or another type of portable mp3 player, you can download the podcasts from your computer to your mp3 player, and listen to them anywhere.
