Podcasting
in PAC 442 Section B
You can easily create your
own podcasts for free! Just follow the step-by-step process outlined
below.
-
Create an account at odeo.com
- you will need to provide your name, your e-mail address, and a password.
-
Follow the instructions at odeo.com
to record your audio. If you have a microphone attached to your PC,
just click on "Record Audio", which will take you to the Odeo Studio, where
you will view a nice interface that will allow you to record up to 3 minutes
of audio. You can can save this audio as an mp3 file on the Odeo
website. You will have to "share" this file to make it accessible
to anyone.
-
Alternatively, if you don't have
a microphone attached to your PC, you can configure Odeo so that you can
record your audio using a telephone. You will have to call 415-856-0205,
enter your user information (which is your phone number and a PIN), and
then record up to 3 minutes of audio.
-
After finishing your recording, you can play the mp3
file on your PC using a Flash interface. You can click on the
icon and select "Copy Link Location" to copy the URL of the mp3 file with
your audio recording. Send this URL to Burks in an e-mail note, and
he will publish this link on our course blog at:
http://pac442b.blogspot.com/
-
You also can use iTunes to subscribe
to the RSS feed of your audio channel - which would be a great way for
you to post audio to distribute to your friends and family.
