Select a podcast of interest - such as "Science Times" - and click on the "SUBSCRIBE" button:
This action will take you directly to the iTunes Store (assuming that you already have the iTunes software running on your computer - see more below). Click on the "SUBSCRIBE" button to subscribe to this podcast series (Science Times):
You now have subscribed to the podcast series, and the latest podcast from the series will be downloaded automatically. And since you have subscribed to the podcast, whenever a new podcast is published, it will automatically be downloaded to your computer - all through the power of RSS!
Many websites with podcasts, such as the blog
for PAC442 Section D at UIS (taught by Prof. Burks Oakley) are configured
to use "iTunes One-Click". If you see a podcast of interest somewhere
on the web, and it is accompanied by the iTunes button
(or the iTunes One-Click" button
),
you can subscribe to the podcast series simply by clicking on the button:
This action will initiate the launch of the iTunes software (note that you will have to click on the "Launch application" button if the iTunes software is not already running):
When iTunes starts, it will take you to the iTunes Store, where you can subscribe to the podcast series:
Once you have subscribed to podcasts and downloaded them to your computer, you can listen to them using the iTunes software. Or you can copy them to your iPod (the term is "synch" to your iPod), so that you can listen to them anywhere.
Connecting your iPod to your computer (with a USB cable) will launch the iTunes software and sychronize the iPod, so that it will have all the podcasts that you have downloaded to your computer.
