Student Comments about Online learning at UIS
- "To me, this was a very beneficial class, and I am glad that I decided to take it. The Internet plays a very important role in my life, and I am glad that I got the chance to learn how to use it better."
- "I am 38 years old...have a master's degree...and have been in the United States Navy for over 19 years. So...I have been through the traditional route of study. It has been very exciting to earn graduate level credit while stationed out at sea. As an online student, I have had a great learning experience--the curriculum is well planned and encourages critical thinking and skill development...and most importantly...it is ONLINE! "
- "I did not come to UIS without serious thought. I looked at three other schools and either visited them or called and talked to them. UIS was by far the best."
- "This class has allowed me to explore the Internet possibilities which I did not know existed. I loved this class and the instructor is great. I plan on taking another Internet class like this one to further my computer and Internet abilities."
- "I think this was the best online class I have ever taken. The material was very well organized and the teacher was very prompt at answering student questions and postings. When the teacher is so involved like that it makes you want to learn and participate in the class."
- "I'm sure that you've heard this scenario before but my husband and I have very busy lives, he operates a small farm and we both work full-time with an 18 month old daughter. I can get on-line when my daughter goes to bed at 8 p.m. and work until 10:30 p.m. 3 or 4 nights a week, study during my lunch and on weekends (while my daughter is napping) and it all works out just great. Now instead of taking one or two courses I think I can squeeze the time into getting a master's degree on-line."
- "I really liked the online course, I wish UIS offered more of them. Thanks"
- "Once I got used to the Web Board (which was a pretty hairy experience) I began to like the idea of being able to read the lecture notes and posting from other students. The opportunity for web links embedded in the lecture notes definitely expanded the learning experience."
