Turn-It-In
We will be using the Turn-It-In
(TII) online service to deter plagiarism. Here is some text from
the TII website that explains why I feel it is (unfortunately) necessary
to do this:
The Internet has made plagiarism easier than ever before. From elementary schools to the highest levels of academia, the ease of downloading and copying "untraceable" online information have led to a virtual epidemic of digital plagiarism. Our plagiarism prevention system makes it easy to identify students who do submit unoriginal work, and also acts as a powerful deterrent to stop plagiarism before it starts.
At the heart of our plagiarism prevention system are our customized Originality Reports. Originality Reports are exact duplicates of submitted papers, except that any text either copied or paraphrased appears underlined, color-coded, and linked to its original source.

Go to: http://www.turnitin.com
In the upper right corner of the main Turn-It-In homepage, click on "create a user profile".
You will be asked to enter the following information:
Assuming you have done everything correctly, you then will view a screen with a link to "start class enrollment wizard".
You then will be asked to
enter the Class ID, which is: 1229993
and the "class enrollment
password", which is: PrairieStars
(case sensitive, one word)
At this point, your user profile
is complete and you are ready to submit a paper.
